“Labor Day weekend. Great for the bank account, sucks
with the crowds. And could it have been more humid?” Jake
muttered to no one as he entered the air-conditioned haven of
the employee locker room. He’d spent most of the past 10 hours
inside a Fire Force costume. He fought crime in the park and that
meant he’d sweated the day away.
He tossed his goggles aside and his eyes adjusted to the
florescent lights. Walking to the water cooler, he reached under
his right arm to unzip the suit. The black outfit nearly cooked him
on days like this. He loved wearing it though. Anything to turn
into a superhero for the day. He freed his arm and pulled the top
of the costume over his head and sideways so his chest was out
of the hot Lyrca fabric.
He filled a cup with cold water and drank it down. Even
though he had five-minute water breaks every twenty minutes, it
wasn’t enough. He drew another cup of water and poured it over
his chest. The short blonde hairs glistened with the sweat and
cold water mix. The water felt good. It was time for a super cold
shower to speed up the cool down.
He heard the water turn on in the showers, along with
Tyler’s familiar humming. Jake drank more water as he headed
to the shower entrance. Tyler, working as Ice Force, had it good
because he’d been in the Lair all day. He processed the bad
guys and gave tours in air-conditioned comfort.
“Tyler!” Jake shouted as he arrived in the doorway.
“‘Lucky you staying inside today. Whoa! Sorry dude.” Jake
caught Tyler working his hard-on.
“Shit, man. I didn’t hear you come in.” Tyler cupped his
